manipulative guy

Background info,recently he told me he only wanted to be friends so we agreed to that, we slowly drifted and I knew it was because there was someone else but I kept my cool and continued to remember we were only friends.. he messaged me today this.. it’s not true, I didn’t say the things he said I did, at this point I’m at such a loss and I’m honestly so hurt.. what do I do
