My hsg was not terrible. I was premeditated with ibuprofen and a Valium. I think the worst part was the tenaculum that is used to grasp the cervix is sharp and pinches pretty bad but it is over quickly. I brought my own pad, because I don't like the thick ones they give out and I was glad I did. I had heavy spotting for the afternoon because of the tenaculum.  Good luck to you!

I agree with Shel, I took 600mg of ibprophen before and it's just more uncomfortable than anything. Expect to need a pad for after, Shel had a great idea of bringing her own. Wishing you all the best, x
