How long were you told to wait?

I’m curious how long your dr told you to wait and why?
I feel like there are varying opinions

I miscarried naturally (no meds or D&C needed) and my dr told me no sex for 2 weeks. She said it may be a good idea to wait for a period only to help date the pregnancy but she said we didnt need to wait for a period. We plan on starting trying again next week (when my 2 weeks is up).

After my first MC they said when I was ready waited one cycle and was pregnant again then MC again they told me 3 cycles

I had a miscarriage on Aug 3 at 11w. I'm still waiting for my period to come. 
It depends on your medical  personal situation and when you are ready, but were told to wait a minimum one cycle. I think I ovulated but I wanted to give myself time to mourn because if I go through it again while my pain is still fresh I'm afraid it will be too hard emotionally.
