I have a 7 year old son and we are ttc #2. Three years ago I was raped. I didn’t visit a doctor right away bc I was embarrassed and felt a lot of shame. When I did, I found out I had chlamydia and was pregnant. I had an abortion for a lot of reasons. I do not know if I caught the STI from the rape or if I had it previously. I know chlamydia can cause infertility but bc I got pregnant from the rape and idk when I caught the STI, is safe to assume that it didn’t make me infertile? My doctor told me repeatedly that an abortion would not have any effect on future fertility. I’m just concerned bc we’ve been ttc for close to a year and I’m still not pregnant where as with my son it took once and obviously when I was raped it only took once so why isn’t it happening now. Could I possibly be infertile from what’s occurred??? Any insights or advice??
