Can taking Penicillin or Dexamethasone make my cycle start?

I’ve been on the NuvaRing for the 2 months and haven’t had a period since my last one in June. I take it continuously so I can skip them and had been successful in doing so. Last night I started taking Penicillin and Dexamethasone because I have strep throat. This evening I took a shower and didn’t notice anything down below until I got out and dried off. Thinking I was spotting I put on a panty liner but then opted for a tampon because of the heavy flow starting. Does anyone know if these particular medicines make your period start?
