Is it appropriate to bring non-student friends to study with you at your university’s library?

Just curious what you guys think. I’m a student at a 4 yr public university, do you think the library there should be for students only or is it considered acceptable to bring my friends from other schools to study with me for a couple hours?

People enter my school all the time to purchase food from the restaurants. The library is no different, especially if they're with a current student

It depends on the school. The university I went to was a public one but it wasn’t necessarily just open to the public. You had to have a parking pass or you’d get towed and the police constantly patrolled the school. It really depends on the school but if the person is with someone who also goes to the school then it most likely wouldn’t be a problem.
