Jaundice?

Hi everyone! I'm a first time mom and I am wondering if jaundice can still developed after few days? I have a 5 day old son know and I notice a slight yellowish color in his eyes. In his first day he was negative in jaundice as per blood exam and also negative in his third day in his first doctor's appointment. I'm just wondering if jaundice can still develop after few days of being born?

Yes, it can. I'd call the pediatrician to see if they want you to come in with bub. Regularly feeding, regular poops and pees and some time in the sun are what can be extremely beneficial.

Yes it took 24 hours for my daughter to show signs of jaundice. She has hereditary spherocytosis. She turned orange not yellow but had yellow in her eyes we had to spend 5 days in NICU under the lights. They get rid of the bilirubin from pooping so the more they poop the faster it goes away. I'd either call your doctor or take baby to er to have checked out.

Yes! My little boy still had it after 2 weeks and had to go to ER.
My daughter had it after two or three days but they kept checking with a machine on her forehead and it reads the levels of it. Whenever we had sun in the flat I would put her on it for as long as possible and it clear itself!

Yes it can. My mom said it also happened to my sister. She said after 2 days of placing my sister in her bassinet right in front of the window at home, so that the sun could hit her, it healed itself. However!! That was 26yrs ago. Call the doctor. Lol. Yet, don’t panic. No reason to. :)

My son got jaundice when he was 3 days old, his levels were like 14 I think which. She said was high. It went away on its own when he turned 3 weeks. We just put him in sunlight

Thank you all mommas! My son got checked and had his blood drawn again for jaundice today. Glad that the result is in the lower level and his doctor said we have nothing to worry about. ☺️❤️
