Sudden nipple pain.
Just need some help self diagnosing as it’s the weekend and Labor Day is here tomorrow in the US so don’t have access to my doctor.
I have sudden sharp pain (feels like needles) in one nipple when baby nurses. I haven’t yet checked her mouth for white (she was asleep for the night already). It started when I pumped for the first time in forever today. And then again when she nursed for bed.
No real symptoms otherwise. I do notice a lump in that breast..but could just be due to hormonal changes and/or breastfeeding.
Any thoughts? Could I have pumped on too high of a setting and caused a bit of damage? Is it normal for thrush to appear in only one breast initially? I don’t seem to have any severe mastitis like symptoms.
