How much do you or can you pump in one sitting? My baby is 3 1/2 weeks old and I can only pump 2 1/2 oz in one sitting from both breasts. I'd say a sitting is about 10-20 mins.

I pump 4-8 oz after my baby's morning feeding. If I pump in place of feeding (such as if he's at home with his dad and taking a breast milk bottle), I can get 6-10oz. He's 7 weeks old, EBF.

I'm in he same boat. My baby is 9 days old & I just started pumping 3 days ago. Only once a day though & it was about 20-25 minutes with both boobs only got 2 oz all the times. Today I pumped twice & got 2 oz both times. It's like I can't do more than that. I do feel like it's the time of day I pump.. All times I pumped were in the middle of the day. It's confusing trying to get on a good pumping schedule as I'm trying to regular nurse too. & he's pretty much cluster feeding still!

It depends on the time of day... most I've ever pumped is a total of 5oz.  My baby is 13wks & I rarely ever pump.  I've also gotten a big fat nothing out of a pumping session & freaked out!  But there was nothing to worry about - baby was getting what he needed.

It depends on time of day and if you nursed before.

1.5 to 3 oz is normal, average, and what your baby needs. Anything more than that is an over supply and could cause other complications like mastitis and clogged ducts

Think about it, your baby only needs around 24 oz total over the course of the day max. If you pump 3 oz each time you get 24 oz. if you pump 8 oz you get 64oz
