Whos having a home birth?

Im having a home water birth and im wondering what i should put in my labor box. I know ill need towels and tarps but im wondering should i put snacks and something that smells nice. Maybe some massage oils. What are you getting for yours?

My midwife gave me a list of things they want us to have on hand and a list of “nice-to-haves”. Maybe yours has a list as well?
I’ve also got ice packs in the freezer and made a bunch of ice lollies out of electrolyte drinks.

I didnt have a home birth but i think its really cool that your having one !

I had a birth at a birth center and I brought so many things to help me. We used barely any because I couldn’t think of them at the time. You can use: massage aids such as tennis balls, essential oils to help with pain intensifying contractions or energy... so many things you can try that might help.

Essential oils, massagers, snacks (fruit is amazing because it's light and hydrating for you), snacks for the midwives, towels, facecloths, garbage bags, tylenol (for after), stool softeners (You don't want to risk having to strain to go after birth), yoga ball, a bottle of oil to rub on your perineum, a good water bottle that's easy and quick to drink from without having to worry about unscrewing/making sure it'll fall, some good visuals or mantras for the walls. I'm sure there's more but this is all I can think of at the moment. They'll give you a list as it gets closer!
