Hey I'm 17 and my boyfriend is almost 20. we been dating for 6 months and I've had all my first with him except for my first kiss. I really love him and can't see myself without him. Lately he's been telling me how much he wants to start a family and get married to me one day. he told me that once I turn 18 he's gonna marry me. my family says we're crazy and out of our minds.  rn he's in the military so as a whole we would get many benefits like a house and college paid for

I'm inclined to believe your family. You guys are still in the honeymoon phase where everything is all sunshine and rainbows. Stay with him for longer, get to the regular relationship phase and then decide where you want your future to go.

Guys in the military quickly yet married a lot for certain benefits. You definitely need to wait until you've know this person longer and better before you get yourself stuck in a situation you don't want to be in.

Have you even farted in each other’s presence yet? 🙄 planning marriage at 6 months together at 17 is madness. It takes years to really get to know someone. In another few years you’ll be totally different people. If you’re still together and wanting the same things by 21 then look at marriage. Military benefits might sound appealing but it’s not a good enough reason.

Do not get married just because of the benefits. I know that's not the only reason but coming from prior military myself, my spouse and family members being military, it isn't all dandy. I say once you are 18, go spend some time with him where he is stationed and go from there. If he makes this a career ,he could possibly have to move to a new station every few years. 
Me personally,  I did get married to my husband after 4 months. Oct makes 3 years together. But we both knew exactly what we wanted and had already grown out of typical phases. Just take your time and don't rush.

My friend got married after a few months with him and she didn’t know him so basically long story short he cheated on her with a minor and they ended up divorced. So I would listen to your family, and take time to get to know each other. The fact that you think you can’t live without him says a lot.

Most guys in the military only get married for the money and to move out of the barracks. Don’t do it. Wait awhile and see if you guys last.

It’s fun to think about different future possibilities, but give yourselves time to think about it. Maybe, in a year talk about that plan again, but in the meantime just have fun being in the present. You’ve got plenty of time to be an adult with huge responsibilities.
