Hair dye?

Hey ladies,
So I typically go to the salon and get my hair done every two months. I’m supposed to have an appointment in two weeks (I’ll be 6 weeks and a few days). Everything online says it’s okay, but I wanted to check with you. Is that safe or should I cancel? I mean, my roots are crazy, but I’d rather have crazy roots than hurt the baby.

I am a hair stylist and it’s basically old advice that was given To pregnant women when hair color technology was new and Like In the 50s and before. Nowadays the hair color molecules are of a higher technology and muuuccchhhh smaller (think rice versus ping pong balls) the only thing to worry about nowadays though is that the top of your head runs hotter than normal so it effects the color result depending on what your hairstylist does. Most hairstylists won’t use a high volume developer on your scalp and only deposit semi permanent color or just do foil/painting work to avoid color on scalp. Hope this information helps. Because of this we hairstylists are typically the first people to find out when you’re pregnant!

It’s completely safe as long as the room is well ventilated. With my first pregnancy I got my hair done multiple times and my baby was fine! Hope that helps 😁

I literally just cancelled my hair appointment for today because I found out yesterday I was preggers 🤣 my research shows that most doctors say it is safe to highlight, because little gets through the scalp. Dyeing I believe poses a bit more risk but I haven't done too much research on dyeing. There are some doctors who still aren't 100% on board that highlighting is safe, so I'm just being super super cautious. Hope this helps :)

I am wondering the same I have a vacation coming up in two weeks and would like to have my hair done before our trip. My old stylist said she generally doesn’t like to and prefers to not dye her clients hair while they’re pregnant so I probably wouldn’t be going to her since she’s against it. Not sure what to do!

I’ve heard that is perfectly safe to dye hair! The tiny amount that is absorbed by your scalp is not enough to make it anywhere near the baby 😊 I think I read that in an article on here!
