Gigantic baby?

I’m 28weeks, Just had my 28 week appt with the midwife who measured my fundal height and my baby is measuring above average, I’m now worried he’s going to be too big, has anyone else had this? And what’s happened? She said if he’s still over “normal” next time then I’ll have to go for a growth scan! 
Also my next appt the midwife has booked in for me isn’t for another 7 weeks? Is this normal? I’ll be 35weeks? It’ll be the longest I’ve not seen anyone since early pregnancy.

My midwife said the first measurement doesn’t mean much, it’s the pattern of growth they’re looking for. I’ve measured 2cm over the line on the chart each time I’ve been measured, but because it’s still tracking the right growth pattern I haven’t needed an extra scan. She said it’s only if a measurement is hugely over or under that a scan would be needed.

I was told I was expecting a 5lb baby, my son was born st 8lb9oz. I was worried sick for weeks that there was something wrong with him but he was perfectly healthy and anything but the tiny baby they had told me to expect. Try not to worry too much x

I was told I was measuring below average, baby was 8lb8 🙄
My best friend was told her baby was measuring above average and they advised a c section, she gave birth naturally to a 5lb15 baby 🙈 
It's a guess. I wouldn't worry. You could just be carrying a lot of water weight.

I measured at 8.5-9lbs according to the charts with my daughter. She was 7lb 6. It's really inaccurate and all they are looking for is a steady growth pattern. I was overweight too which didn't help with measurements

That’s a very long time to wait. After 28 weeks mine are 31,34,36,38,40 x

I think those measurements they do are rubbish and I wouldn’t read anything into it! My entire pregnancy I was told by friends/family/strangers that I looked small and they couldn’t believe how far along I was, the midwife booked me in for a growth scan as she measured me small but he was perfectly normal!
The growth scan at 39 weeks they estimated 7lbs 10 but he was born at 41+5 at 7lbs 14 so I don’t even think those are 100% - don’t read too much into it at all!
