Not sure

Hey ladies, so i need yalls opinion please! So my period was supposed to come August 26th, it is now September 5th. My husband is worried that i might be pregnant, but i’m not worried, (well.. trying to not get my hopes up). Well i just need to know what everyone thinks :( . I’ve been having slight cramping in the lower front, so i’m afraid it’s my period coming but i’m not sure.. i want to take a test but i’m terrified to because back in april, i for sure i thought i was pregnant but i took multiple tests and it came back negative.. i’m also afraid to test and then my period come the next day or something.. what do yall think i should do?? :( .
