Vbac approval process?

I've been reading stories about some women needing to convince their doctors or sometimes entire committees to let them try for a vbac.
I was induced previously and never fully dialiated wich lead to a c-section. 
Can anyone share with me their experiences with getting approval for a vbac? Thank you in advance.

I am see for pregnancy and delivery at an all childrens hospital due to being high risk. I have had 2 VBACS. Both times i told them i wanted one. They explained the risks and then i signed a wavier. And it was done. Ultimately its your decision they can not tell you what to do. Your the patient and you have rights for how you are cared for and what you wany.

Just responding to how my doctor works. On Wednesday, I was 39+6, and at my appointment we were going to discuss my options after getting checked. He checked my cervix, and I was still a one with a thick cervix. There is something called a "bishop scale" that doctors use to gauge what kind of induction to use if necessary. Unfortunately, I did not meet any criteria for any form of induction he was comfortable trying. I couldn't even get the Foley bulb. I am 40+4 and I go in 5 hours to get my cesarean started.

I have not attempted mine just yet, currently 39 weeks. My second was a cesarean, not technically emergency. He wound up turning sideways when I had to be induced, they didn't want to turn him since my water had broken before I went in. My doctor was willing to try vbac since it wasn't an emergency and it was 9 1/2 years ago. I have to labor on my own, I cannot use any medications like pitocin or cervadil. If I cannot do it on my own, or go too far past my due date, I have to have a repeat cesarean. 
They're basically looking at why you need one and how far the pregnancies are apart.

I was in the same boat, I’m 30 weeks with my third and wanted to try for a vba2c. My first was an emergency c section, my second I was offered by my dr to do a vbac but my scar never healed right from my first so I got a second c section. This time my dr would t allow me to try for a vbac since I had already had 2 c sections. So I did some research and found a birthing center near me that had a ton of excellent reviews from mommas having vba2cs! I just switched Friday and I’m so excited to say I’ll be trying for my vba2c!!

I was same as you. Induced, wouldn’t dilate, then baby’s vitals dropped so I had an emergency C.
When I talked to my doctor she just asked about the reasons for the first and hearing it wasn’t some sort of medical condition that made vaginal dangerous, she just talked about the risk vers benefit of C section, the risk vers benefit of vbac, and said it was up to me and that I should feel no pressure and could change my mind up to the last minute. I was actually WISHING she would just tell me one was better over the other, but she said there was always risk to both (with c section it’s a major surgery, risk of infection, lots of bleeding etc), and I had to decide what I was comfortable with.
So really you just have to talk to your doctor and see. Some are very open to vbacs, and will just run you through everything like mine did, others take convincing.

I didn’t need any kind of approval really. I had a c section the first time also just because of no progress during labor. 3 years later I had a successful VBAC it wasn’t even a question the hospital encourages it 100%. The only way your not allowed to VBAC (where I’m delivering) is if your pregnancy is less then 14 months since your last c section and other serious complications. But if you don’t have any complications and your last c sections wasn’t from any serious complications then there’s no reason you can’t VBAC

My experience  is this. I did not ask for approval. I did some research and found a doc who was vbac friendly and then interviewed her and stated  my intentions. We discussed risks and health factors.  I had 2 previous c sections. Currently I am 31 weeks along and still planning on no inductions and having a regular vaginal birth. My thought is this. Do your research know what you want and find a doc who supports you. Best wishes
