Do you think Mike Pence is setting himself up to be president?

I heard one of the pundits on cable news call out Mike Pence for failing to stand up for or defend Trump. It made me think that I haven’t really heard a lot from Mike Pence especially in defense of Trump. There are also people speculating that Pence wrote the anonymous op-ed for the Times. Perhaps Pence is staying silent and biding his time until Trump is removed to best position himself to take over?

He’s consistently defended Grump and his actions throughout his term I don’t believe the op-ed theory. 
As to wanting to be president, sure. Most VP’s do.

I’m sure he wants to be president (god help us), but I don’t think he’s conspiring to sabotage Trump.

I think he’s just letting Trump do his thing because he knows it’s likely Trump will be removed somehow. I’d rather have Trump then Pence though so honestly I’m not ready for him to be taken out of office. As long as he doesn’t run again, I can endure the rest of his term.

I don't think he's purposefully sabotaging Trump but he's much more political in his answers of support. He's definitely got to be thinking it's a possibility someday.

Yes and I feel like he’s working on getting Rick Scott as his Vice and that disgusts me. Scott has destroyed Florida.
