Did anyone NOT have a wedding ?

My boyfriend and I are thinking of the future ....
Neither of us want to throw a wedding ! I can’t even picture spending 30 thousand ( give or take ) on one day !  We feel like weddings are kind of blown way out of proportion these days ...
My question is to the people who did not have a wedding, did you regret it ? Did you regret not having the fancy dress - walking down the aisle ? The big day ?
I’d be so happy with just my man and I at the court house but friends and family are making me feel like one day I might just regret not doing it 🤷🏻‍♀️...thoughts !?

I did not have a wedding. We married at the courthouse, and told no one until afterwards. I don't regret getting married like that!
We are private people, so neither of us wanted such a public profession of our love for each other. It just felt too intimate to share even with our family and friends. 
I do regret not writing better vows for my husband. But hindsight is everything, isn't it?

Just him and I. 
We found a minister online, met her at a park she signed the licenses, we said some words, we went and ate some pizza, then called our families.

My husband and I did have a wedding but we kept it pretty low cost. We wished we would have eloped due to the stress of planning. My sister eloped with her husband and had an intimate ceremony which just them, the officiant and a photographer and then they threw a reception back home for family and friends afterwards, which was awesome. Weddings are so extreme lately and seem to be more for the guests than the couple. Whatever suits you is fine.

My husband and I got married in Vegas. We wanted it to be just the two of us.  We told our friends and family ahead of time, our mothers were hurt for a bit but they got over it.  We found a scenic garden that does weddings, got some cute pics, had a fancy dinner and then spent the next few days in Vegas seeing shows, checking out Hoover dam and the Grand Canyon. It was $1200 for the flights, hotel, and ceremony. 
I'm not sure if weddings are that intimate for the couple, also I don't get the whole 'princess for a day' thing. I didn't want to shell out thousands of dollars to throw a party for myself.  I certainly wasn't comfortable having my parents help, as they were supporting my three siblings in college at the same time. I think my dad was quite relieved! 
We have had no regrets. We have both been in bridal parties and attended several weddings since then-which have always confirmed that we did the right thing for us!

I had a wedding, be we definitely spent waaaayyyy less than $30,000 on it. Like, half that, all in cash so we have no debt from it. 
You could have a courthouse wedding for just the two of you, then a big party just to celebrate. You can make it whatever you want, and I think by doing that, you’re less likely to feel like you missed out at some point in the future.

My husband and I got married just the two of us! 
We found a cute hotel with a nice view close to home but also far enough that family wouldn’t be tempted to join us. 
It’s not that we didn’t want them there but none of them understood exactly HOW low key this needed to be for us. 
After having a mortgage together for over a year we were already as committed as possible. The marriage part was for us, for rings and to change my last name.
We hired an officiant and as an alternative to the court house :)
It was 7 minutes start to finish & I regret nothing. 
We told our families ahead of time- they weren’t pleased but it’s been 6 months and they haven’t disowned us !
