Is it just me?

I’m due with a boy in November! We are having him at the hospital I work at. I have been thinking about getting everything ready since I still work full time and don’t have as much free time. I mentioned to my husband about his overnight bag and he said he isn’t going to stay overnight in the hospital with me. He said he’d rather come home and sleep. Is that a big deal or is it my pregnancy hormones acting crazy?

He should def stay! He needs to be there to help out in the middle of the night. You are going to be so tired and exhausted why does he get to go home and get a good night sleep? Nope that shit wouldn’t fly with me lol

Not a big deal. My husband didn’t stay in the hospital when we had our first and I completely understood. The bed they provided spouses was a couch that looked insanely uncomfortable. I hate sleeping in hospitals but I had to, he didn’t.
I also didn’t mind the alone time to bond with our daughter. You’re entitled to your feelings but from someone who’s husband didn’t spend the night it was no big deal. Still pack him a few things because labor can take sooooo much longer than you’d expect.

Maybe I’m terrible but I’d expect my husband to stay with me and our newborn! 😬 he’d also want to stay with us but maybe I’m a little harsh on my hubby 🙈😂

With my first I would have lost it if my husband didn't stay with me overnight. I hate hospitals and there was absolutely no way I was staying there alone. I don't think you are wrong at all.
This time I want my husband to go home at night so he can be with our toddler. My mom will watch him while I'm actually delivering but once I'm in recovery I would rather my husband be home with him since I can't. I'm not even focusing on me being in the hospital, just dreading spending a night away from our son. It's funny how priorities change.

I personally would want my husband with me to help those first nights and learn with me (FTM). I don’t really care that he’d be uncomfortable, I’ve been uncomfortable for weeks 😂

My hospital has a nursery so I let the baby sleep there and my husband went home. No point in him gettin no sleep when they check u every 3 hrs. Plus he went back to work while I was in the hospital and would leave early every day. He did take a few days when I came home but I had my mom to help me. I know he def is staying home this time bc he has to take care of our son so I think it’s not a big deal.

I would want my husband there labouring but I wouldn’t expect him to sleep in hospital once baby is here. Best one of us gets a good nights sleep 😂 x

No you are not crazy. With my first he stayed the night with us in the hospital. Had to go home to take care of the dog( dog was terrified of his parents and a bit confused) but he came back. This time though we have a toddler. She will be with her grandparents the first night (we are inducing) but then I will probably have him take her home after the baby comes so she has a more normal schedule. So if it’s important to you you need to explain your feelings to him. Speak up now and work through it.

What is the room like? we got a family room so he has a bed and his meals I think if hubby didn’t have an actual bed I would be more understanding

Not crazy. I had an emergency c section with our son and needed him since I was bedridden. Gonna be the same this go round. We might have our toddler sleep with us in the hospital. My mil never answered on weather or not she would stay at our place so that he could sleep in his crib. So if she won’t do that then he is gonna have to stay with us.
