Better Late Than Never!

Michelle

With everything in my life, I forgot to post this story.

Here is Sebastian James! He was born May 26th at 4:41 AM. He was 34&4.

Two days before he was born, I was admitted to be monitored because I was having Chest pains.

I was released the next morning because I had to get all level 2 ultrasound since he was measuring small and we suspected IUGR.

Surprise! He was growing normal, but had a congenital heart defect!

I go back to my hospital, still in pain. They think I have pre-eclampsia so I get transferred to a bigger hospital, with a NICU.

The next day, pre eclampsia confirmed, heart defect confirmed. He has Tetralogy of Fallot. Time to get induced. I THEN get told that once he's born, they will have to take him away immediately because the heart problem is affecting his lungs and he won't really be able to breathe.

Three weeks later, he has his first open heart surgery. This was after being on a clap, NIV and getting fed through a tube. He will have to have many surgeries in the future, but for now we are glad that after a month and a day he is home and as healthy as can be expexted!!
