It depends on his job. My husband is a maintainer for the CV-22s in the Air Force. He's allowed to wear his wedding ring in the office and like out other places in uniform, but he can't wear it or any ring at all out while working on the aircraft because it's a safety issue.

I would get him a real one. They also have rubber ones at the px he can wear when he does something that might get it scratched.

They can my husband is an electrician on aircraft in the army, he rarely takes it off (depending on what hes working on) and he'll stick his silicone ring on that he keeps in his car. Mostly so he doesn't scratch it up and ruin it.

My hubby works with electrical stuff and he had a real one which wasn't the best idea ever for his type of work in the military. Eventually he lost it during PT and he was was so upset, I got him a silicone one right away and it just works so much better! He can wear it anytime and not be scared of losing it because it wasn't super expensive or anything like that. Also, a lot of the men I see here are always wearing silicone ones, I don't see a metal one too often 😊

The latex ones are great because of his job is physical and hands on, his finger won’t be degloved because it’ll break the ring. A metal ring is a huge no for a lot of jobs.

It 100% depends on the job. My husband can’t wear any rings - metal or silicone - due to his job. He has a real one which we used in our little court house ceremony but he never wears it. He only wears his silicone ring when we go out but not at home since it’s a force of habit to take it off.

Definitely not a stupid question. I am active duty Navy and I wear a regular ring, but my husband knows that I have to take it off to do evolutions, especially when I am on a ship for if it snags on something my finger would be degloved. A lot of couples have turned to the silicone rings and swear by them only and other couples have the silicone rings for work and the actual rings for off time.

get a tungsten wedding ring for him. they are "real" inexpensive and very sturdy. my hubby has a desk job so he can wear whatever ring he wants lol but it might be different if yours works with his hands
