I couldn’t help myself

Alexandra

So these are two pictures of me, the first one was taken today and the second one where I was at my heaviest was 8 months ago. I was just scrolling through my camera roll and I was mind blown by how far I’ve come and how much farther I plan on going. Because of my physical appearance I was not happy with myself and it showed, but now I am almost never in a bad mood, I’m more flexible, I love going to the gym, I eat much healthier and I’m planning on losing more fat and replacing it with muscle/ toning myself up. I just had to post because looking through those old photos brings back the memories and emotions I had when I was taking them, I had just turned 18 guys lol that is not the body I envisioned myself having on the day I officially became an adult. But.... 8 months later here I am, in college and feeling great about myself. So please, enjoy your day and if you’re going through what I was going through, just have patience and enjoy the process. Sometimes it’s hard and you may want to give up, or you may even want to stop looking at yourself in the mirror, but trust me, when you have a vision and you can see your goal clearly in mind, don’t let anything stop you from accomplishing it. The end result is extremely worth it. God bless 😊❤️

Edit: So since people are asking me what I did, basically I cut out everything. It wasn’t fun and it was extremely difficult at first because I’m an avid junk food lover, but it had to be done. I stopped eating dairy products except for cheese and eggs (and the occasional ice cream cone lol). No fried foods, if I wanted rice it would have to be only one spoon full, pizza only on cheat days so a Friday or Saturday, no more cereal or candy, only sugar free gum, etc. I kept eating meat it would just have to be boiled or baked and where I would have 4 pieces before, I dropped that to two. Also, no more soda or juice regardless of whether or not the juice is 100%. The sugar amount in ONE cup of juice just isn’t worth it when you’re trying to lose weight. Not only does it make you bloated, but it also causes a ton of breakouts. I forced myself to only drink infused water and I ended up loving it. So to summarize everything, I basically did what doctors try to tell you from age 5. Eat your veggies, don’t eat too much meat, and try to only eat junk food on cheat days (cheat once a week and eventually you won’t want to cheat because you don’t like the taste of the junk anymore). Also work out every night no matter how tired you are and try to drink half a cup of a naked smoothie or boathouse farms smoothie afterwards. It energizes you and it tastes great! But if you’re worried about the sugar amount, make your own. Also fruits will become your new candy. You’ll crave for them like never before. I hope this helps 😊!

*UPDATE*

So I just wanted to show you guys more of my progress and I can officially say I went from a size 20 to a size 2 😊😊😊. I never once imagined myself here, I’ve never been smaller than a size 8 before but here I am and I’m so happy with myself it’s ridiculous. I’ve never worn a bikini before, but best believe this summer that’s all I’ll be wearing. BUT my body isn’t perfect. What people don’t show you is the excessive skin, the annoying parts that just won’t tone up (my thighs, but trust me that’s going to change) and the DEFLATED BOOBS lol. Without a bra on they honestly look like shriveled up balloons but I love them for it 😂. The imperfections keep me humble and remind me of where I was and how I NEVER want to go there again. So, I’m just letting you guys know and if you’re on your weight loss journey, don’t be surprised by the droopy, jiggly bits and don’t hate them either. Embrace them. When your body is shifting and changing due to weight loss of course it won’t stay the same! Keep up the good work girls!! 💪🏾💪🏾

Lol this was a screenshot from a video of my dancing. I just had to show my friends that I finally reached my dream weight. Also, my face has changed so much I don’t even recognize the face I had when I was heavier. I’m grateful though because personally I wasn’t the prettiest flower in the garden, but I believe I am now 😉🌺🌸
