Supply
Hey ladies! I’ve been back to work for a couple of weeks now and unfortunately have no more breastmilk in the freezer. I’m away from my son for about 10 hours but I only pump between 7-10 oz while I’m at work.
My mil watches him but wasn’t doing a very good job listening to us in the beginning. She was overfeeding him in the beginning and he wouldn’t be as hungry when I was home. We spoke to her about pace feeding him the bottle and she’s starting to feed him slower now. He still eats about 12-14 oz while I’m gone and I can’t pump that much. Unfortunately I don’t know how much he gets from me during the day, he’s kind of a snacker. I mean he would be on me all day if I let him, but he can go 2 hours in between feeds. When he sleeps at night he sleeps for 3 hours then is up every 2 after that. He’s 11 weeks old now and I’m wondering a few things:
How much should he be eating while I’m gone?
How many oz in each bottle?
How can I up my milk supply?
How can I build up my freezer with more milk when I’m already not pumping enough?
I would like to breastfeed for as long as possible! I really don’t want him getting formula unless he absolutely needs it.
Thank you in advance, ladies. If I need to clarify something please let me know. FTM so I feel like I know nothing 😂
