Cannot get 21 Month old off my boobs!!

I need some serious help with this whole weaning process:

I’ve tried the whole cut down the day nursings, give him more snuggles, & solid calories during the day. My son is obsessed with my boobs. I can’t even begin to take them away at night its literally a meltdown screaming nightmare that can last hours.

He only wants to go to sleep on my boobs & is trying to use me as a pacifier. He goes through stages where it can be more extreme at times but I am getting frustrated with him getting older now. I assumed he would grow out of it but seems like he has no plans on breaking his routine or comfort level any time soon.

What do I do? I can’t just stop cold turkey: that would be very traumatizing I think for both of us.

To top it off h hates regular milk & will only drink water which isn’t really a soothing replacement.
