Marijuana? When to stop.

Question

I live in Indiana, im 24 weeks & smoke weed. Yeah some don’t support it but to each their own! Keep your opinion to yourself if you don’t!!! 
But my question is when is a good time to stop smoking so I know I will be clean at delivery? My ob knows I smoke, he told me it was fine during pregnancy but I have to pass my urine screen upon delivery. 
Is it the standard 30 days to leave the system or longer when pregnant??
EDIT: my OB can’t tell me when to stop because it’s not legal where I’m at. His exact words were, “ Your tox report tested positive for marijuana, it’s fine during pregnancy but you have to be clean upon delivery”

I’ve stayed clean throughout both my pregnancies. Yeah of course I miss it and all but I couldn’t risk anything happening to my babies. If you were trying to conceive I would of stopped when You decided that. Or at least when you found out you were pregnant. A lot of people say MJ will not harm the baby but the cigar you smoke it in will and MJ is still a type of smoke going into your lungs and babies as well. 
I would just stop.. until after your 6 week checkup PP.

Girl just STOP! 🛑 I was a heavy smoker prior to becoming pregnant and stopped when we were really TTC , it’s just not worth all the CONS that come with it & to be honest I can’t think of one good PRO...maybe to help with nausea, but still I wouldn’t risk the birth defects 😶

It's fine during pregnancy??? Who is your OB? It will show up in the baby's meconium, and you can lose custody of your kid for using illegal substances. Usually you are not allowed to breastfeed if you've done MJ in the last two months because of the risk to the baby. Please stop now.

Eeks, idk but I would have said 24 weeks ago. Studies show smoking marijuana can lead to deficiency in higher order processing /functioning for baby later in life (maths/problem solving, strategy, etc).

So it’s hard to say because it really depends on how heavy of a smoker you are. The more you smoke, and the more often you smoke, the more it is stored in your fat cells. Or so I’ve read. Everyone’s body is so different. I’d say 30 days minimum, but to be honest I would stop now JUST to be on the safe side. I have a friend who’s a nurse, she delivered a baby, the mom was in the same situation as you. If you test positive on toxicology it is not fun once dcf gets involved. A few home checks and it will be okay is also what I’ve read, but I would want to avoid that entire scenario all together. I’m not trying to be rude, they just usually take those kinds of things very seriously, so I would err on the side of caution and quit now to give your body PLENTY of time.

It typically takes 30 days for it to leave your system but I would stop at least 2 months before hand.

They will usually test the babies umbilical chord if they see you had a positive tox screen during pregnancy in your chart. I’ve been told by NNPs that those can go all the way back to first trimester. At my work we don’t get concerned as much because it’s legal here so it’s hard to do anything about it but if it’s not legal there good luck.
