When will aunt flow return

I've been breastfeeding for over 10 months now, still no period. She is only receiving breast milk and has been on solid foods since she was 6 months old. I was completely thrown off by the fact that I did not get my period back within the first few months of her being born because this was not the experience I had with my first daughter, as it returned fairly quickly after she was born. I've been told that my period would most likely return shortly after she started eating solid foods. Has anyone else experienced a similar situation? Am I missing something?
