Irregular periods

Hi ladies, me and my husband have been TTC for 9 months. I’m starting to feel discouraged. I have cycles ranging from 31-35 days and my ovulation days are all over the place. For an example the past two months ive been ovulating on CD 18/19 and this month is CD 15. It’s confusing! I use the strips to test too. I finally set up an appointment with my doc to discuss putting me on Clomid. Has anyone tried it? Any questions I should ask? Be informed about? Any advice is extremely helpful.
