At home Doppler worries?!

Hi ladies. Just writing for advice/reassurance. I bought a home doppler from amazon (Ana wiz model) with some jelly. And was able to find baby’s heartbeat at around 10 weeks :) I am currently 12+5 and recently had my scan which went perfectly however I tried to find the heartbeat this evening but was unsuccessful. We thought we heard it a couple of times for a few seconds but then it disappeared (baby moving?) I was also told I have an anterior placenta at my scan so I was wondering if that had grown and might be making it difficult? Was hard to find anything this time even placenta :( should I be worried?

It can be hit or miss sometimes. Even at 16 weeks there would be times I couldn’t find it because he moved around so much. Now that I feel him moving I don’t really even bother with using the doppler anymore.

With an anterior placenta you could be getting that rather than baby. My midwife showed me when she listened to mine, she said it's so easy to get them confused. Maybe this is what you hear at 10weeks? They're so hard to find at this stage x

It can still be very hard. They do move around they are still teeny and can hide.  Even myself at 28 weeks my girl will move away from it, even the nurses can take a bit to get it nice and clear.

I had rented a doppler from about 11w to 15w point in my pregnancy, and also have an anterior placenta. Some days I could find it, other times I couldn’t. My doc said that at that age baby swims around a lot so it’s not abnormal to have problems finding them sometimes. After about 14 weeks I found her easier to find.
