Best way to contain dirty diapers?

Baby #1 (for me, #2 for dad) is on his way here shortly! In one short month he will grace us with his cute little presence! I’m still in the process of getting his nursery together but it will be shared with my boyfriends 7 year old when we have her every other weekend. I’m wondering what the best way to contain the smell of dirty diapers would be so we don’t have to stink up the whole room! I had put a diaper genie on my registry but my boyfriend says they don’t work and I have a sensitive smell so if he said it stinks then it must have been bad lol. Anyone have any other suggestions? Preferably nothing too expensive! Thanks!

All we did was put it in a grocery bag and tie it and tossed in the outside bin if it was a BM or in the kitchen bin if it’s just a wet diaper. We had gotten the diaper genie but it was truly a waste of money.

We put poop diapers in these after starting solids at 6 months old. My daughter was EBF so her poop never smelled until she started eating solids.

I got bags called sassy bags from amazon. They r slightly sented and small so u just throw the diaper in there tie it up and throw in a bigger trash can I never had a smell with these bags. Plus u get like 200 for like 5-6$

We have a diaper genie- its okay but we keep it in the bathroom because I don’t think it contains smells well enough. For this baby I’m going to get one of the stainless steel ones (I forget what it’s called but you can use regular trash bags).

We have an angel care bin but the tommee tippee bins are really good too! They seal the smell in very well the only downside is the refill bags/cassettes (which last a good few weeks) are quite expensive but you can get compatible ones much cheaper online

It won’t let me edit the post but I also forgot to mention we live on the 3rd floor of an apartment and the stairs are outside, so I’d like to limit the number of trips to the dumpster as much as possible too! I was thinking Arm & Hammer baggies to tie them in, anyone try those?

Change whatever trash can you use every single day. My sister is very nose sensitive and has a tiny trash can from dollar tree with small bags in it and bags up each one and puts them in a bigger trash bag that she takes out at the end of the day.

I just throw mine in the regular trash and take it out everyday lol they've never smelled bad enough to stink up the house.
