Help ya girl out

So I’m Mexican and my Husband is American. We are living with my in laws and my mother in law does all the Cooking I want to start cooking so I can help her out, but I don’t know any American dishes(besides Mac n cheese and Mashed potatoes.) I mostly know how to cook Mexican food and my husbands very picky. He doesn’t like Enchiladas, pozole, tostadas none of that. So if you guys could help me out with your favorite recipes that would be awesome TIA🙌🏻.
