Natural birth?

Please share your birth stories! My plan is natural with MAYBE something to take the edge off. I hear thousands of horror stories about natural births but I wanna hear stories of people who have actually gone through with natural birth no epidural. Now I know giving birth isnt a walk in the park lol but I wanna at least try to be prepared for what's coming my way if I decide natural from moms that hace actually experienced it from beginning to end.

Ive had 2 unmedicated births. The first was kinda bad (from being unprepared) and the second great. With my first i did no research at all. I didnt learn breathing techniques, no pushing positions, no relaxation techniques, NOTHING!! I went for an NST at 8am on Feb 9, 2015 and there were no signs of labor. At 1 pm i started having back pain. I would walk around to ease the pain but the pain was just getting worse. I always heared contractions were in the front so i assumed it wasnt labor. Around 4:30 pm i arrived at the hospital. I was 8 cm dialated and i was in so much pain but i had no idea how to handle it so i was just screaming and pulling my hair. I started pushing but i just pushing trying to get baby out instead of pushing during contractions. My son was born at 5:16 pm and i had 2nd degree tears. I was EXHAUSTED but i did it. 😁 My second i was going to get induced at 7 am on Aug 9th 2018. Afew hours before i was getting cramps but nothing bad. Once i went in at 7 am i was already 7cm dialated so they decided not to induce me. This time i chose to be on a rocking chair, chewing on ice, and deep breathing to relax when i got contractions. I was doing that the whole time until my daughter was born at 12:20pm. I was very prepared and relaxed. I actually pushed during contractions and because of that i had no tears. I did panic a little at the end but that was because my body took over the pushing (hard to explain that). So my advice is be prepared and do diffrent thing to relax and choose the one that works best for you. Relaxation, patience, proper breathing, and not panicing is key!! 😊 Its painful but very rewarding!

I’ve had 4 babies. 2 with epidurals and the last 2 naturally. I wasn’t prepared for the first natural birth but with the last one I was. I had to be induced due to complications and even with the petocin I still managed just fine with absolutely no tearing, screaming, or prolonged pushing. I had a crazy long labor and was awake for 38 hours by the time i had her but I stayed on top of my breathing and remained in control. I highly recommend Ina May Gaskins book and doing toooons of research! You are capable of doing it if you want to! I loved it and wish I would have done all of mine naturally.

Once labor started for me, pain management never even crossed my mind. I was just so focused on getting through each contraction that it never even occurred to me to ask. Contractions just feel like really strong period Cramps, not pain so much as intensity. as long as you can get through them one minute at a time, you can do it! Pushing was painful at the end, but also effective because I could feel what I was doing! If tubs are available, I would highly recommend laboring in one! It helped me so so much!

I gave birth at home (planned) and it was a wonderful experience. I used a tens machine for early labour pains which really helped up until I was around 6cm dilated at which time I got into our birthing pool and used a little gas and air. I didn’t really use the gas all that much because not long after getting in the water my membranes went and I was overwhelmed with the urge to push, 29 minutes later my little mermaid swam into the world! In total my active labour was 4 hours start to finish. I would say I think my pushing was so productive because I didn’t have any drugs, I didn’t have to even think about it my body just did it for me!

I had two babies this way. Having a doula for both helped with contraction management and birthing in a tub was more comfortable on my hips and during th crowning. 
I don’t feel like it’s this AMAZING thing to have done but I labor effectively and have hips that make birth easier. I wasn’t in labor I usually long with either baby and never had back to back contractions. Everything felt totally manageable

I planned a home birth from the beginning of my first pregnancy. I took a lot of supplements throughout the entire pregnancy. Prenatal, chlorophyll, vitamin d, vitamin c, calcium&magnesium, and whatever else my midwife told me to take. I also went to the chiropractor. Around 40 weeks, I started taking even more supplements that were supposed to help my cervix soften. I had no Braxton hicks, mucus plug, bloody show, nada and I was overdue. On the 11th day overdue, I had a biophysical profile done to make sure that baby was ok and that my placenta was still in good condition. Baby was good, but placenta was starting to show signs of calcification, so we decided that we'd give baby one more night to come and if she didn't, we'd start with cohosh in the morning to try to get things going. However, my contractions started at 5 am the next day. I used a birthing ball and water tub to help manage the pain. Only people in the room with me were my midwife, her assistant, my husband. I was in labor for 8 hours and pushed for 1 (but only because I didn't know how to push). I had a slight tear that required one stitch. Baby was 8 lbs, 9 oz. I am currently 40 wks, 2 days with my second and once again am planning a home birth. 
If you want a natural birth (with absolutely nothing for pain) you must prepare beforehand and you must find a medical professional who is trained and equipped to help and facilitate that kind of birth. Not just willing to let you try to do it, but actually trained for it and supports it. My pain did hurt SO MUCH but it WAS manageable. Patience to wait for labor to start entirely naturally, breathing techniques, labor positions, water tub, birth affirmations, the baby's position, a calm environment, these all make a profound difference in your pain levels and your ability to handle it.

Not sure if you want to hear mine. But I'll bite. I went unmedicated with an induction.Never do that, as the pain is 1,000 times worse. I had a grade 3 tear and needed 9 stitxhes and bled horrible.
