Does pumping while 42 weeks pregnant....

Question

I'm 2 weeks overdue and heard pumping helps bring in labour. I dont want to hear the usual "baby will come when shes ready" and all the negative nay-sayers trying to cause upset or aggravation. I merely want to read facts.
Does it bring on labour? Is there a chance of miscarriage if you're 42 weeks pregnant?

I’ve been told that it CAN cause labor, but it won’t always. 
Agree with other commenters about discussing induction with your OB, ASAP. After 42 weeks gestation the risk to your baby goes up significantly.

42 weeks?! Oooof! I’d be so nervous of delivering a stillborn. The placenta will quit working soon. I hope you get that baby out soon and safe! At the office I work at, if you aren’t delivered by 41w3d. You are induced that evening/next am.

Unless you are induced there isn’t much that will bring on labour unless your body is ready. I literally tried everything, including pumping & still was induced. You can try but it more than likely won’t work unless baby is ready.

Pumping isn’t necessarily going to cause labor or anything- I would speak to your doctor about inducing labor because you shouldn’t have gone over 10 days past your due date.
