Placenta pills for bring back milk supply when dry?

Anyone ever hear of taking sheeps placenta pills to bring back milk supply? My mil let her supply dry up when she was in Mexico and she wanted to breastfeed again so she took sheeps placenta pills and it brought back her milk in abundance. Do y’all think it’s worth a try?

Nope, there was just a news segment on today about the danger of taking placenta pills. The purpose of the placenta is to filter out toxins so they don’t get to the baby. There was a case sited in the news report I saw this morning of a mom who took them to boost her supply and her baby ended up getting very sick. She was not affected but there was something in the pill that passed through her milk to the baby.
