Favorite classic book in lieu of a card for baby shower?

What do you ladies think of this? Cards these days are $5+ and they end up getting thrown out. Books are forever!Someone told me about this idea for baby showers and I kind of love it. I've read some mix feelings about this idea, and I want to see what you ladies think?

I also did it with my first. Everyone loved the idea. Its nice too because family wrote in the books so its nice to read the good messages to my.son from family he doesnt see much. I also used a cute phrase on my baby shower invitation

I did it for my baby shower. When I heard of it I looked on Pinterest and there are cute little things to say for the inserts to go with your invites. We got lots of books and we still read them so I personally loved the idea.

I did this with my first and absolutely loved it! I highly recommend. My son is 2 and a half now and when he picks out books before bedtime we read the messages from our loved ones each time💕

I only get cards from Trader Joe's.... 99¢! And they're really nice :)
But I'll always jump at the chance to spread my love of reading to small ones as well.
This is a pretty common theme for baby showers to do - most of the ones I've been to have done it, so people are used to the idea.
