My SO and I and planning to move in together, but his ex housemate also wants to move in with us. However the location he wants to live in (inner city) makes it very difficult for me to get to work. His price range is way above what my SO and I can afford and he likes brand new apartments.

I found this super cute townhouse that I absolutely adore 😍 the only issue is the ex housemate will hate it. My SO is super loyal to his housemate as well and we did have a verbal agreement that all 3 of us would live together. So my dilemma is... do I go for my dream place knowing it’s not good for ex housemate or do I stay true to the agreement we made months ago and live somewhere I’m not too keen on?

SO will follow me where ever I chose to live - he’s just been close friends with ex housemate and lived with him for years beforehand. (Ex housemate is maybe a bit clingy 🤷🏻‍♀️) Ex housemate has called me selfish before and I just hate acting in ways that confirm these types of comments. Is it ok to put myself and my SO first when looking for a place?
