Am I just being a wuss or could it be endometriosis?
So over the last 6-9 months I’ve had severe cramps during the first few days of my period. I’ve always had bad cramps and a pretty heavy flow (I generally soak through a heavy flow pad in about 3 hours the first 3 days of my period and then it’s pretty light for another 3 days). My cramps in the past have been moderate I guess, I get lower back pain and cramps/muscle pain kind of all over my lower abdomen. Usually a heating pad and either Tylenol or raspberry leaf tea help. I have to take it easy for a few days, but I can function. But with the last 6 cycles or more, I’ve have sharp, severe pains in my lower abdomen, usually on the second and third day. The first few nights on my period, my cramps wake me up because they’re so bad. I’ve been on the verge of tears at points and I finding that Tylenol, ibuprofen, midol, and my heating pad will sometimes take the edge off but never totally helps. I’ve had to cancel plans and call out of work. But generally, the severe pain lasts for 2-3 hours at a time and then will subside or totally go away and then sometimes come back. I’ve also noticed a small sharp pain every now and then all through out cycle in the same spot. And I usually have some pretty bad diarrhea during my period, but I don’t know if that’s my IBS.
My only thought is it could be endometriosis, or I’m just being a wimp about it. Any thoughts? I’m thinking about bringing it up with my doctor but I don’t know if I should just ride it out
