Mistreated at work
Hey guys so I need you guys opinion, I work in a daycare center and I’ve been in the industry since I was 12 my mom is a in home daycare provider herself.. I live in Minnesota and I really need ya’lls opinion on the situation so I started my job in Feb of 2018, i’ve been poorly treated compared to other staff. I’m not sure if it’s because she doesn’t like me as a person and is only keeping me around because she needs extra staff, or it’s a race, disability “issue” my employer is fully aware of everything like my IEP etc.. the only time she acts professional is if someone from the school or state is visiting with me. They’ve been written up I believe 7 times, I asked her if I could take three days off at the end of October and she refused. Saying “we’re short staffed no you can’t take those days off” there’s moments where she is either just non responsive to me and ignores me or snaps at me. I’ve tried getting out of this job since June but my mom and employer are pushy on me staying. I’m scared to even ask her simple questions because of her response’s. I’m scared to call in sick or take days off because we are short staffed. Towards teachers she acts professional but towards aides we are treated less because of our title. There’s day were I have cried in the bathroom stall so stressed and overwhelmed and she knows this but continues to tell me to show up to work even when I’m sick she tells me to come in. About a month ago I was wrongly accused of leaving a child in a room by themselves and after she looked at surveillance she realized she was in the wrong and I quote said “I guess you can have your job back” she was going to terminate me for something I didn’t even do. The day after that happened she asked me to come into work a morning shift which I did and then left to realize she emailed my work coordinator saying “and incident happened and it’s grounds for termination” before knowing the situation. Please help!!!
