Emotional support pet.

I was recently diagnosed with severe depression and anxiety. I am currently on meds for it. I got 2 kittens a few months back and unfortunately my living situation changed and every apartment I apply to doesn’t allow pets. I refuse to give up my babies they literally have changed my life. They helped so much and when I’m having an episode they are there right by my side. A friend told me to make them emotional support pets but I don’t know how to do so. Do I do it online of call my doctor?! Please help! I can’t lose my babies
