My fur baby is gone

My precious fur baby Mittens has passed away. I had a vet come to my house so he could have the comfort of dying at home. When she examined him, she said putting him down was the best decision. He was basically in a coma and I didn’t realize it (his eyes had remained open). He wasn’t responding anymore when I would call his name. He was also barely breathing, so he went quick. I know it was the best thing and that he’s not suffering anymore, it just feels strange that he’s not here anymore. To all those who responded to my previous post with words of support, Thank You. You helped me to decide what to do and he got to die in a home he is very much loved in surrounded by his humans
