Factor 5
We just got my SO’s DNA test back and he carries a gene for Factor V thrombophilia. I do nor carry this gene though. His bio mom had difficulties staying pregnant and he was a twin, the other twin didn’t survive and his mom died as a result of birthing complications.
I was wondering if Factor V could be passed to any children we have and if so then that would mean any fetus I carry may have it even though I don’t? Would that increase the chance for pregnancy as a result of it being due to the fetus having Factor V? I’ve tried researching a bit but couldn’t find info pertaining to the fetus having it and mother not. I’m wondering because I miscarried a few years ago and there were no answers as to why. We are planning on trying to conceive next year after I graduate and I’m worried if this will be a problem.
