„Bullying“ in kids‘ shows

So I’m getting back into TV shows for children and I’ve noticed they can be quite harsh. There is this one show called „Der Kleine Nick“ (based on the books „Le petit Nicolas“) about Nick and his friends, all aged around 8 years old I’d assume. They all attend school together and constantly get into some kind of trouble so normal children adventures. BUT they constantly call each other names like stupid, idiot, dumbass (loosely translated from the german words but you get the idea) and pick on the „nerd“ kid in their class (the one with glasses 🙄). They make fun of him and don’t let him play with them, blame him for their pranks, etc.

Now watching that I was just thinking if it’s really beneficial to show stuff like this with the problem bullying has become nowadays. I’m not 100% sure but I don’t believe shows back when I was a kid had storylines like that.

So what do y’all think? Do you think shows like that are just in good fun or could kids become the wrong ideas seeing their TV characters pick on each other? Do you think a children’s TV show should feature curse words like that?

EDIT: Personally I don’t feel comfortable letting my son watch that in the future.
