Do you think daycares should be legally required to have cameras installed?

TW: child abuse details

I read this article a few minutes ago about a woman who operated a home daycare.. So, I’ll sum up the article (I attached the actual link if you want to look it up). A woman had her son at this lady’s home daycare and eventually found out her son was being starved, abused and neglected. The only way the information surfaced was because another parent attached a camera to his infant’s car seat, which captured children being strapped into their seats and left in closets for long periods of time. Apparently there were red flags but hindsight is 20/20, right??

Anyways my question.. do you think all licensed facilities should be required to have some sort of monitoring or audio/video footage the parents can access? I know even with that, there are spaces that wouldn’t be fully monitored but something as severe as the abuse these kids endured would’ve been picked up on. Just wondering what everyone else thinks?
