How was your first year of marriage??

How was your first year of marriage? 
Did your relationship change from what it was like before you got married? 
What were some of the challenges you had to face?? 
What would you change if you could do it over again?

There was literally no difference what so ever after we married from before. 
We already lived together, everything running smoothly, ect. There wasn’t anything different or anything to change 🤷🏼‍♀️

The relationship didn’t change much... it was difficult in the way that it’s two separate lives trying to join together. Marriage brings out flaws/problems in a way that nothing else can. The first year was hard but it was also amazing. I love being married to my best friend and wouldn’t change one thing.

Difficult because chronic illness is causing a lot of stress for both of us. 
I hope one day I will be improved and be able to really enjoy our relationship (and honestly everything) like a healthy person 💙

It was tough because literally a week after our wedding I had emergency neck surgery and a spinal cord injury and had to quit working. I can still walk and stuff, it just was a difficult start on our marriage because my fine motor skills suffered with my spinal cord injury. I used to be very outdoorsy and self reliant, but had to learn to become vulnerable.
My husband is a gem though, and made it as easy as possible. Has completely stepped up being he sole provider, etc.

The first couple of years were a little hard... we moved in with his in laws to help them out financially and struggled with TTC. When we finally did, we were so excited... then we found out our daughter had issues. 😔 She passed at 22 weeks, and it was just hard for us. I wouldn’t say our relationship struggled, we just went through a lot emotionally together.

Things changed our first year but only because so much went on. We were married in the May, bought our first home in September (had rented together for over 4 years so already lived together) pregnant in November (planned). Our relationship was still great but a lot of stress with house renovations etc.

It was exactly the same. I think the only reason ppl say the first year of marriage is the toughest is because they wait to get married before moving in together and you can learn so much by living with a person first. Me and my husband lived together and we’re together for 9 yrs before we we got married though

My first year was hard because it was my first time out of my parents house, we moved into our own place on the base he was stationed at. We never lived together beforehand so learning to live with him was difficult tbh. I’m type B personality and first born in my family, clean, organized, make lists, plan things in advance...he’s type A, messy, unorganized, loses everything, has no concern for the future...so very different!
We are now going on 3 1/2 years married and it’s much easier to live with him. It probably sounds bad but the one thing I’d probably change was not getting married so young. It’s true what they say about not knowing yourself until your older and figuring out who you are and what you want...I’m lucky enough to be able to do it with my husband, whom I love and do not regret, but it’s much harder this way. I was married at 19.
