Baby Food Brands?

Question

When are you or when did you start on baby foods? What brands are best, and do you start with fruits or vegetables? My daughter is 5months and I think it may be time. I definitely want a good organic. Please help?

no need for rice cereal its just a filler ! oats is ok but just fruit and veg will do x

My daughter’s pediatrician had us start at 4 months because of her head control. We started with oatmeal cereal mixed with formula (breastmilk never worked with her). Then we introduced fruits/veggies. I actually purée my own...I use the ninja blender and mix the fruit or veggie with water and a little oatmeal cereal. It’s actually cheaper than buying baby food. Pediatrician said to try foods for 4 days and then move on to a new one.

I just buy organic produce and cook & puree them as I am making lunch/dinner. You can use a blender. I make smoothies in the morning and leave out the dairy. 
Anything that can sit on a shelf for years and not spoil is filled with preservatives. Organic or not- still better to give fresh if it is possible for you!! (Then again... time is sort of an issue for us Moms 😂).

We plan on starting at 6 months, in 2 weeks. We're going to puree our own veggies with breast milk when we start. I got the book "The Big Book of Organic Baby Food: Baby Purees, Finger Foods, and Toddler Meals for Every Stage
Book" by Stephanie Middleberg. I'm planning on following recommendations from it for food combos and recipes.

Start with rice cereal and oatmeal then veggies then fruit.
Personally I use gerber organic, but there are a ton of options.
