GD stuff

Al

I had my follow up for my first week of testing after my diagnosis of GD, my numbers have been inconsistent because 1. I was trying to learn what things spiked my blood sugar and what didn’t. And 2. I had a cold for the majority of the first week and had higher numbers because of that. HOWEVER, my numbers have not been above the limit except for my fasting numbers, and a few breakfasts as I was trying to figure out what I could and couldn’t eat. The NP was quick to prescribe metformin and even suggest insulin already. I brushed it off at the appointment, but afterwards started wondering if it’s normal for them to prescribe medication so quickly? Since getting over my cold I’ve had all great numbers, with none going over the limit. It’s bothering me, any insight?
