What really counts...

Question

I’m just thinking about what a couple friends said after they had their kids. 
That so many people show up for the baby shower but that after the baby is born, when they need the most help and support a lot of people just disappear! 
This makes me sad. I would like to think my friends would pop in or offer to stop by, it’s such an important time.

I’d be happy if that was the case! I don’t want a bunch of guests and people around , I want alone time with baby especially when they’re so new and vulnerable. Bugging people to take off their shoes, wash their hands, don’t kiss the baby, don’t touch his hands, its exhausting ! Set yourself up with freezer meals and leave the cleaning for another time! Maybe I’m the odd ball, but I want left alone with my new little one

I found that after having a baby I had a way bigger respect and understanding for those who had done it before me. I think a lot of the time people don’t realize you need help or don’t know how to offer help in a way that’s useful. I promise if you reach out and ask, they will be there for you!
