switching from the pill to an IUD... help ??

hey ladies !! so recently i have been researching and looking at the benefits of the Mirena IUS compared to the pill. i decided that this would be a great time for me to switch, but after everything i read there is just one side effect setting me off.

bleeding for 3-6+ months ??? any of you with Mirena, how has the bleeding been? im going to see my boyfriend november 1st and im hoping the bleeding wont be too bad then. but how has it been for you guys? has it been really heavy or light, short or long? im just so TORN on what to do right now.
