Am I doing this correctly?

I’m trying to wean my 16 month old that absolutely doesn’t nurse for nutrition. It’s mainly for comfort or boredom. I know for a fact because I only nursed him this morning at 6 am and not again for the rest of the day. My boobs are hurting I’ll admit. I don’t want mastitis and I don’t want a clogged duct. But I don’t want to keep nursing or pumping. I don’t even like hand expressing to be honest. I know I don’t do it correctly. Am I letting my milk dry up the correct way? I plan to distract him for a couple more days and then let them dry up so when he wants to nurse I can tell him it’s all gone and he will maybe believe me since I won’t smell like milk still. Idk I am just trying to wean him before my 2nd gets here..any advice is welcomed. I also feel so guilty I could cry.
