Don't like playing with 2yo... Anyone else??

My son is 2yo but isn't talking yet... I find it very difficult to play with him due to lack of verbal communication. He is very clever and understands everything and can do whatever you may ask him. But just isn't verbalising anything yet.
I love going to the park and we go to playgroups 3 times a week, where I don't mind playing with him as there are others there too.
Because of this I have the TV on all day. We do watch educational things and I will sing and do actions to songs with him etc
I just want to hear if I'm the only mum. In this position... Truthfully? I it ever hear about super duper mums who's kids watch 3omkns of TV and they are always being creative, reading etc...

My daughter definitely has screen time. It makes our lives, and hers, 100% more peaceful some days. She is on track with her speech now, but I started noticing delays when she was about 20 months old. I started reading to her several times a day. At bed time, we read 20+ minutes. It was really hard the first several weeks because she wanted to babble through it, and she would interrupt me all the time. After the first two weeks, it became something she looked forward to, and now she cries if I forget her story. I’m not an expert, and if you’re worried, for sure talk to your pediatrician, but maybe they just need some communication with words in a different setting. I’m not saying just reading, either, but maybe a different approach to learning that will help them? Good luck!

My son’s verbal communication is not as great as some other kids his age, but I feel you on the tv thing. I beat myself up about it all the time but my apartment is so tiny and it’s hard for us to go places with no car and do anything together otherwise since he likes to play on his own a lot. The tv is background noise most of the day while he plays. but we do the best that we can with what we’ve got as mommies.

We play a lot with his toys (you have to find things he likes to play with), he goes to the park every day, he has cousins he plays with every day as well. We constantly talk to him and ask open end questions to get him to speak as well. We dont let him watch TV at all. He loves watching YouTube where kids play. He knows his colors really well. 
But my other son was kinda the opposite. He didnt know his colors until preschool (3or4yo) and didnt care to play which was weird. he wanted you to play mostly. Every child is different.

My daughter is having speech issues. When we go back to the Dr in January we're gonna talk about maybe starting speech therapy. Just talk to them more, that's the only real advice I can give on this subject, since I'm goin through it too

My July boy doesn’t talk yet. He grunts and points. He will talk when he’s ready. And when that time comes I’ll be begging him to stop lol. We let him watch kids YouTube and we play cars with him or he loves playing in dirt outside by himself.

Disclaimer: I’m no super mom.
My two year old is in to the silliest imaginary play right now and honestly never wants to just play beside me or alone. Sometimes I just need a few minutes so I’m not crawling around and dressing up. So my advice is to enjoy the freedom while it last sometimes and if you’re really wanting to get in to play more, YOU have to be the one to show that anything is possible. 
This is where the TV shows you watch can come in handy. Take the adventure from an episode and turn your little world in to something new. 
Don’t feel bad all kids develop differently. Try and start recognizing his learning style this will help you with how to go about play. For example; my daughter is a doer if I try and show her something it an instant fit I have to let her try something and most likely fail before I can ask to have a turn and show a different approach. You may have and observer or or he may take in more with verbal instructions. I know it’s hard to be the moms we think we should be but it’s important to remember that love and encouragement means more then what you are actually doing. Celebrating small victories and teaching copping skills, learning  boundaries and having time to let there little brains figure out how this crazy work works. Take your time mama and enjoy what you can.
Here is my LO playing camping after watching Fancy Nancy go camping on an episode. We made the fire out of tissue paper and paper towels rolls. I put little flicker tea lights under. Shortly after this she destroyed our creations and moved on to something else. 🤷‍♀️

I’m in the same position. My son has a speech delay. He barely talks at all but his facial expressions are super expressive. I try to limit tv as much as possible and do a lot of “structured” activities that he does and I can interact with him while also watching tv or doing what needs to get done.  I find my friends who have non delayed children at the same age don’t seem to get it because their children talk back to them, tell them their wants etc. 
My structured activities include puzzles, advanced shape sorters, sensory bins ( rice, “Snow”, water beads, kenetic sand or stones) play dough, slime, finger painting, coloring, trampoline
If I’m going to play we do cars, dinosaurs, tossing the ball, books, working on speech skills, or walks along with gymboree and the library for classes. 
As a mom who also son is also Speech delayed I try to remind myself how frustrating and lonely it must be to never be able to tell me his needs, wants, or attention. It gets super frustrating but the best thing you can do at this point is do one on on activities which focus on speaking, language, and some form of communication. Setting aside some amount of time which my son and I focus on him and our interactions make it easier to attack the day. Right now we do 1 full hour at least 3 times a day where we are interacting directly with each other.

Ummm any mom that says they legit play with their two year old is a super women. lol they still honestly are at an age where playing with someone isn’t a thing. They still like to play next too. So we will build with blocks, color, read books, or play dough. Also, look up Busy Toddler on instagram. She is ALWAYS posting awesome at home ideas to do with your toddler that are easy and simple. 
But don’t feel bad about tv either. My lo will watch in the morning and then at lunch. But they aren’t at an age where you can engage in imaginary play yet with someone yet. So I always pick something that I can do by myself that he can do by himself too. But something that I can still say oh that’s cool tower you are building or oh you are coloring with the blue crayon, etc.
