Cervix is open!!

I'm 29w 6d now. I had my appointment (30 week) today instead of tomorrow. Cause I was having pains in y2k legs [shooting pains] and I couldn't really walk today without hurting in pelvic area and lower back. The doctor checked me I had a more protein in my urine, she checked my cervix and she said it was open about the size of my finger tip and she can feel the baby's head.

Anyone else have this experience? Should I pack the hospital bags early? Is he coming early than expected? This is my first baby I'm freaking out the Dr said also that I could open up more in a few days.. in a week but cannot predict.
