IUI egg size?

Question

I’m going through the IUI process right now. I’ve had my second US and bloodwork done. All I know is that I had one egg measure 13. How big should it be before they trigger?? 
I think she said I had 2.5 eggs that could mature/grow big enough....😩 a little discouraging.

I got "lucky" and had 4 eggs over 18mm when I had my IUI.  Only 1 fertilized, but 1 is all I was praying for.  Good luck!

They consider 18mm and up mature and will sometimes have you trigger around 16-17 as the follicle will grown until it releases which is generally 36 hours after trigger. Follicles grow 1-3mm a day.

I had one iui so far, didn't work, but never had a trigger, on my 2nd cycle now haven't ovulated yet. What does the trigger do and why is it needed? The day of my iui I had 2 eggs at 20 & 26mm one on each side, no bloodwork or anything, was told test at 16dpo if you don't have af already. Af was seriously late but bfn on tests, just waited it out.

I think they wait until 17-20 or so to trigger.
